Hi campers and parents! I am super excited for this year’s camp. As assistant director and one of the founding partners, I love challenging new adventures and putting my heart into my passions!
A little bit about me is that I have been coordinating events and managing administration for a local karate school since 2012. There, I have also organized and assisted in running summer camps, march break camps, winter break camps, PA Day camps, children’s sleepovers and children’s movie nights, to name a few, over the last five years. In addition, as a high honours graduate of Sheridan’s Early Childhood Education program, it is easy to see why I am ready to take on the next challenge in my career!
What makes me perfect for this camp is that I have been training in martial arts since 2008 and currently hold a nidan (2nd degree black belt) in karate, shodan (1st degree black belt) in kobudo (weapons) and instructor level in tai chi. On top of having my first aid and CPR certification, I am also trained in managing and supporting food allergies through Allergy Aware Canada, and am sunscreen certified through Sun Aware.
Now that I have the boring stuff out of the way and you are still reading, in my personal time, I enjoy travelling and the beach. I love a cheesy Christmas movie and a good book, and I love spending time with my family.
